Alex Bedini grew up in Rochester, NY with four brothers and one sister.  Alex started out playing the violin and would listen to a recording of Django Rinehart accompanied by Steffane Grapelli. It seems that his relentless practicing for hour's on end would soon allow him to be playing local jobs in Rochester.  Alex switched to the guitar and it wasn't long before he was playing in his first big dance band. This is where he first met Phil Bernie who played trumpet in the band. Duke Spinner was the band's leader who fronted the band playing clarinet. It was a twelve piece group.  Later Alex joined a five piece combo playing at the Terrance Gardens. During Alex's tour of duty in the military where he was classified as a musician, he continued playing in military dance bands throughout his career. Upon his discharge from the military he returned to Rochester and soon headed for New York City.  After joining the musicians union, Alex joined a little trio at the club Down Beat on 52nd street. The piano player was Deryk Sampson , now deceased and the bass player was Leo Guamerri, they played opposite Art Tatum and Jay McShann. During Alex's time playing on 52nd street it was alive with great music and musicians such as Coleman Hawkins, Pete Brown, Dizzy, and Stuff Smith as well as Charlie Shavers and many more.  All of these musicians regularly frequented the Club Down Beat and participated in many a jam sessions with the trio. Alex said he sure learned a lot from those guys.  After marring and moving to California in 1947,  Alex found himself playing with the legendary Stan Kenton and many other industry greats.  In 1976 He moved to the great Northwest and settled in Coeur D' Alene, Idaho where he opened an Italian restaurant called Papino's  and continued playing to the delight of many. Thanks to Alex's great ear for music, his two sons, John and Gary Bedini founded Bedini Electronics in 1972 and are proud to invite you hear great jazz performed by a true master.

We will be adding more albums as they are produced and re-mastered from Alex's old cassette tape archives. Although some of these CD's are not true audiophile quality (due to the recoding process), they show Alex's great talent and mastery over the guitar as he plays songs from a bygone era. If you are an old time jazz lover, you will truly enjoy Alex's style of playing the unforgettable tunes from the 30's 40's and 50's.
